Judge Blackstone was admitted to the bar in 1861 and was elected Lafayette County Judge in 1862. He was elected Wisconsin State Senstor in 1879. In 1881 he owned 285 acres of land. He married Miss Ellen E. Hardy June 20 of 1862, she was born in Platteville and in 1881 they had four children :Roccey, Jessie, John, and Ralph.
